When it Rains... It Pours!!!

When I was in my DL yesterday morning, it was still raining, but I had no idea I was going to experience the worst storm to hit Metro Manila in so many years. I am used to seeing floodwater on the streets of Fidel and Ambrocia when it rains.

I watched as the floodwater starts to creep near my DL's gate and I try to tell the kids who are enjoying the floodwater to back off. Kakatalon nila and swimming umaalon yung tubig and pumapasok na sa gate.
Then I saw Ate Neth, the Caretaker, dripping wet with rain water. She told me she was helping the apartment tenants save their things as the floodwater already entered their houses. I started to panic. I was monitoring the floodwater very closely. After a few minutes, Ate Neth came back and told me that the floodwater at the apartment is already knee-deep. I opened the back door to check and foul smell greeted me. I walked to the CR to turn on the lights but after a few steps, I felt my foot is already submerged in water. At first, I thought I forgot to turn the faucet off, but when the lights turned on. I was shocked to see black, dirty and murky floodwater!!! Oh my God! I started grabbing things and placed them on top of the chairs. As in shit, hindi ko na alam kung ano ang dadamputin ko. When I went back to the shop area, I saw the floodwater come in. I told the customers that I have to shutdown all the computers. Then I started to grab my things again. Mark, one of the customers offered help. And I'm so thankful that he did offer. I was able to save most of my things though we did it the hard way, I turned off the main switch to avoid short circuits. So imagine me grabbing things while shouting "Oh my God" and "Shit! Shit! Shit!" in pitch black darkness. When Rellie called, I was literally shouting on the phone... I didn't know how to explain what happened. Things happened so fast. As in, in less than 30 minutes, I found myself already submerged in knee-deep dark water. He couldn't believe it either. I saw some of my things floating but didn't care na to pick them up. I was tired and so stressed out, at the same time worrying too much about my computer units.

I went out of my DL and locked up the shop. It was still raining. I can't go home to MCB1 as the floodwater is waist high at Diego Silang. When I decided to brave the floodwater on Fidel street, I made sure I was holding on tightly to Kuya Alex (caretaker). The current is so strong I had to remove my Havaianas and walk with barefoot. I stayed at the caretaker's house, they are lucky to have a dry home. I was sitting there worried sick, couldn't believe what actually happened. Rellie would call from time to time. By 2pm he told me to go back and disassemble the monitors so I can place them in a safer place. It was tiring. One hell of a day! But my only consolation is that I was there when things started to happen, and that I was able to save most of my things, especially my computer units. And that I am safe. Thank you Lord!!!

Kuya Dennis picked me up from my DL around 4PM. Their home served as my evacuation center. The streets are still flooded. When electricity went back by 8PM, I watched the news updates. A lot of areas got flooded, some with waist high and chest high water. A lot of people were displaced, lost their properties, lost their homes, and some even lost their lives. Some are still stuck in the streets, some on the second level of their houses, and some are already on the roof of their houses. Typhoon Ondoy brought a month worth of rainfall in Metro Manila in just 9 hours.

Sunday morning was spent sorting and cleaning up. Thank heavens my computer units are dry. I didn't try to switch on the electricity yet, I have to wait until tomorrow to make sure the sockets are really dry. As I write this entry... I am renting a PC somewhere in the streets of Amoranto or Mayon (I'm not sure). I'll be spending the night at Rellie's home. I'm glad he's now in Manila because I do need a big, warm hug!

I Forgot To Remember To Forget

Okay. Is this weird because it feels really weird. I know this shouldn't be a big deal and I don't even know why I'm writing about this. Aaaaaaaaaaargh!

We had a relationship. We can't pretend that we didn't. But before that we we're really... really close friends. And there's no reason we can't have that again. I shared a big part of my life with you. I don't want to burn bridges.

And now this!?!

POOP Ng Ina Nila

*** GROSS ALERT ***

Don't say I didn't warn you.

Ok, so you really wanna read this post huh!?!

I was on my way to my DL around 9:30 AM when I received an SMS from an unregistered number.

"Jen punta ka na sa shop mo.
May ginawa na naman ang masasamang budhi.
Wala akong load. Nakitxt lang ako."

The message is from Ate Neth, the apartment caretaker.

Panic attack. What is it this time!?! I tried to contact her number but I can't reach her. So I dialed the unregistered number. Hay... she then broke the bad news

Eewww...

Eewww...

Close up. As if the first two photos are not enough to give you a clear picture of what happened.

They were surprised to see the green thingy hanging at the accordion gate of my DL. When they went near it, a foul smell lingers. One of my neighbors told me that around 2-3AM, he saw 4 teenagers in front of the gate and he heard them laughing. When he pointed the flashlight at them, everyone ran away so he was not able to recognize their faces.

TRIP.

I reported the matter to the Barangay but all they can say is, "Pasensiya na po, wala po kayong suspect so wala po tayong magagawa. Linisin nyo na lang po." Remind me again why do we need to pay taxes, huh!?! Bulls*hit!!!

Kuya Alex, the male caretaker helped me clean up this mess. At least there are people who still believe in helping others. After cleaning, it's back to business.

I've calmed down a bit so here I am writing a blog about it to distract my reeling mind. I was thinking, whoever did it is really out of their mind. If in case someone have an issue with me.... what they did only prove one thing. THEY REALLY ARE STUPID AND THEY ARE NOT WORTH MY TIME.

It's hard to put a good woman down!

Uncoolness

Sigh. I don't even know where to start. I spent the night calling my friends airing my side about this uncool incident that hit me. I was raving about closing a business deal recently. Yes, I was on a high for quite some time now. But I suddenly fell from the sky... with my face hitting the ground first. Now I feel like bursting! As in I'm mad again It didn't occur to me that something or someone who saved me a few weeks ago will put me in a sh*tty situation. Though I wanted to think that people are generally good... and fair... and nice... right now, I can't help but think that I was betrayed or something.

Last Sunday, my staff didn't report for work again so I spent the whole day at the DL though I am still sick. Which led me to pull out the staff that was "borrowed" from me to go on duty for Monday. He reported for work so I was able to do my errands for the day. I am still not feeling well but I tried to finish everything to be worry and stress free. But Tuesday came and the "borrowed staff" didn't report for work. Good thing my cousin, Pao came in the afternoon so I had the chance to prepare the contract and even thought of delivering it myself. I heard a knock and when I opened the door, there's no need to deliver the contract, he came to sign and pick it up. And he also came to deliver the news that really shocked the hell out of me. The said "borrowed staff" reported for work at their shop. And that he now wants to stay with them. What-the-f*ck-is-happening-here!?! Around 12NN I called up their shop and informed them about the situation, even leaving a message to tell the staff to report at Fidel in case they see him. And now this happens.

Later that night I had a chance to discuss matters with the concerned staff. Though I already know the answers to my questions.. at least I heard it right straight from him. Apparantly, they offered a better compensation package which I can counter offer but I am not going to do it because I don't want to feed the ego of the said staff. My point is... what happened to "business ethics"? What happened to "friendship"?

And today we were able to talk on the phone and all I heard were reasons that I think were easily coated with polite-ness and for the best-ness of the situation and a whole lot of "I am very sorry". A little voice inside of me wants to believe in the sincerity of the apology but I still feel nasty. I was very straight in letting him know how this situation is stressing me, and that I am deeply hurt. Now I will just wait and see on how they will deal with that.

My friends and Kuks are telling me to expect the worst... but I am still hoping that out of friendship or respect or delikadeza or something this matter can still be resolved.

Hay... I know I'll get over this and in time I'll be able to accept it. But right now, I still feel betrayed.

When It Hurt So Bad Sometimes

"Tonight I've fallen and I can't get up
I need your loving hands to come and pick me up
And every night I miss you
I can just look up
And know the stars are
Holdin' you, holdin' you, holdin' you tonight"

A Start of Something New

Yesterday went by without me noticing it. I mean, after being busy with my DL in the morning, I got myself busy cleaning my room. Scrubbing, dusting, sweeping, removing all the clutters, turning the trash bin upside down and cleaning it afterwards inside and out.
Even the "front yard" (haha... I mean the small space in front of the gate) didn't escape me... swept all the kalat outside, pinawisan na ang kili-kili ko. I swear I want to declare my own "NO LITTERING CAMPAIGN" here in our area. I don't smoke but cigarette butts are all over the place!!! And candy wrappers too! Hay... as in! I wish I live in Singapore. Kuya Alex, the male caretaker shouted, "Hoy baka lagnatin ka!". He was up in one of the roof fixing something. I smiled... hahaha, once a month lang naman yata ako magwalis dun sa harap.

After transforming into my own Domestic Helper for hours, I freshened up and went out to do some bank errands. The teller is in a good mood trying her best to do some small talk with me. It was a little past 5PM and she was trying to keep me longer, to kill time. There's still a long queue and she wants me to be her last transaction for the day. Hahaha! Notice the way teller's count your money (bills)? They kinda sort it, right? Since she's in a good mood I asked her why. Curiosity attack. She answered, "Fit and unfit, at dahil tapos na ko magbilang... bibilangin ko sya ulet ng 2 beses pa kasi nakaabang na sila lahat... ang dami pa nila... ayoko na!" Hmmn... fit and unfit... maybe all old looking and palengke smelling bills are no longer allowed to be in the money circulation anymore. I wonder what they do with those old bills? Sinusunog? Anyway, at least I learned something new today.

From the bank, I went to buy toiletries and chichiria. Then I went "thrift shopping" afterwards. I was chatting with Ali earlier, she mentioned about swimwear sale. I told her I don't think I'll buy a new pair of swimwear since I don't even know if I'll have a Summer Escapade this year (but I'm still hoping for one). Plus I still have around 5 pairs pa yata that I haven't used yet. Nag-panic buying ako last year but I ended up spending summer at the Metro (read: HOME). And sabi nya, "Never mind the destination, yung outfit muna ang unahin!" Hahaha!
Loka talaga si Pok. I ended up buying a swimwear cover-up. But not in Soak... mahal dun eh. I went home with a big smile on my face. Stress all gone! Woohoo!!!

I received an SMS from a friend, "Blah... blah. I want to make kwento regarding something ;-)" From the looks of how the SMS was composed, I think it's a kilig kwento. So when I reached home, I picked up the phone and got the story that I've been waiting for. Wala pa sa kilig moments na part pero I am so kilig na parang naiihi na ako, hahaha! So take a wild guess who this lovestruck caller is. Basta I am more than happy for her. Go! Let your heart talk this time. Too bad I had to cut our conversation short. Kasi I have my own lovestruck patient coming over and I have to prepare dinner... errr... BUY dinner. He knows I have topak over the weekend and he visited to give me a dose of power HUG. Awwww... life is sweet! I'm so cheap. I get mad but it all goes away after a tight hug and some bola-bola. I so love our quiet times. And I felt guilty again for being BRATty when in fact Kuks doesn't even have enough time to rest. He's so tired and exhausted from work... and all his extra curriculars. I need to be extra patient. Remind me. I remind myself and I try to get cool with but sometimes I still get cranky about us not being able to spend more time. But this weekend will be different. He'll be back this Saturday with Kuya Balo, renovation for my DL will finally start. I'm excited to do our errands. Not only that... I am so excited to see the LCD's all set up. Flatscreens, baby! Sosyal! I can feel better days coming my way... and I'm loving it! Woohoo!!!

Hush... Hush... Hush...

I feel horrible... horrible... horrible...

Everyone is gifted with common sense. I wonder why some people forget to use it especially when it is badly needed!

  • mobile phones are not allowed to be used inside banks
  • if you call someone and they cancel your call... what does that mean!?!
  • if they cancel your call more than three times... what do you do!?!

Dig it! And think before you answer back!

I am not PMS'ng here, but that one got me really irked. Aarggggggggghhh!!!

The main point of this entry is: Everyone thinks I'm a total b*tch right now. But I don't think they are getting my point. Which brings me to this loner, un-talkative mood that I have right now... which will probably last for God knows how long.

Spread the L-O-V-E

My day didn't start right as I had to deal with my Love-Hate relationship with my DSL provider again. I swear, a lot of people who work there don't know what they are doing. High blood early in the morning!

It's Valentine's Day and I don't have a date. Rellie went home to Cabiao last night and he'll stay there until Sunday afternoon like he usually does. His sister wanted me to go to Cabiao again so we can spend Vday at the Spa since her husband is also coming home from Singapore. But I can't. Besides, Kuks also has plans for the day with his Tatay, they have two entries for the cockfight Hehehe! Kuks called me up this morning and we had a short talk lang, then they left for the "sabong" after lunch. Nanalo ba? One cock won but the other entry lost so tabla. Sayang!

I was able to talk to Ate Aps din this morning. Nakakatawa! I was telling her kasi, "Saan yung webcam mo, patingin nga at ano ba ang suot mo baka naman naka-heart-heart ka pa jan!" Sabi nya, "Hindi ah!" Then we both laughed. Ganun kasi talaga kami mag-usap. Anyway, nag-chikahan lang kami. Tapos, in the middle of our conversation, she raised her legs because she was trying to fix her socks. Sabi nya, "Uy tignan mo, heart-heart pala yung pajamas ko! I didn't know!" Hahaha! Kaloka talaga si Ate Aps. Hay... I miss her a lot!!!

Since Jackee is out on a date, I was left alone in Jordan. Pero okay na din kasi something really good happened. LOVE is indeed in the air. I was talking to Ate Ping, then Cris came and he greeted Ate Ping a Happy Valentine's. I thought the world stopped for a moment. When Ate Ping smiled and they started a short chit-chat, that's the only time my heartbeat went back to normal. Finally their cold war is over!!! Im so happy talaga! Imagine, that cold war lasted for more than a month I think. To celebrate their reconciliation, the three of us had dinner at Ate Ping's house. We bought fried chicken lang and Cris treated us for ice cream, saya! Super sarap ng feeling that the friendship is back to normal. During dinner, I was observing Ate Ping and Cris catch up on things. Napapangiti na lang ako. Sobrang dami nila pinag-usapan, pang-1 month na chikahan. Sayang Jackee missed the drama, busy kasi sa date. I'll update her na lang tomorrow. I'm sure she'll be happy to hear about this.

So this is how I spent my Vday! How's yours? Hope you had a great day too! Don't forget to spread L-O-V-E everyday. Happy Valentine's Day!

Makes Me Wanna Shake My Head and Walk Away

Simple things sometimes go out of hand...

If I were a boy
I think I could understand
How it feels to love a girl
I swear I'd be a better man

I'd listen to her
'Cause I know how it hurts
When you lose the one you wanted
'Cause he's taking you for granted
And everything you had got destroyed

Come Pick Me Up I'm Down

I tried to face the morning as positive as I could though I had a not so good Tuesday. I wanted to turn around the vibe, and even changed my YM status message to, "It's the most wonderful time of the year". I was aiming for a happier mood then comes Jackee's news. My staff at Jordan didn't report for work again. And didn't even bothered to let me know why. This staff was already absent yesterday, thus my irritated mood yesterday. And she did it again. And I had enough...

I terminated her, officially. A decision I should have made a long time ago.

I forgave that staff in the past and gave a lot (by "a lot", I really mean a lot!) of chances hoping that things will eventually get better. But I was so damn wrong!!! Oh f*#&%!!!

I was chatting with a friend and we were discussing business matters... blah... blah... blahs. He was trying to make me feel a little better and convincing me not to lose hope. At the same time opening up a good news that they are now planning to put up a restaurant. Wow! He then shared with me a recent learning. Something he picked up from his boss' lecture which goes something like:

"There is no bad or poor Business,
only bad or poor Management"
~ * ~ BHL ~ * ~

I've been getting a lot of stress from 1 of my DL's and the staff involved. To the point of getting really... really pissed, mad and angry (as in!). Honestly, to the point of wanting to shutdown operation and just concentrate in one shop. But contracts are limiting me to do so, particularly that of PLDT. There were a lot of wrong things going on in that DL. But now I'm starting to blame myself more

Huhuhu...
