Scrap a Birthday - Challenge

I was blog hopping for some DigiScrap Freebies when I chanced upon "Scrap a Birthday - Challenge" at CatScrap.

The rules are:
1. There has to be a cake or a candle in the picture/on the page
2. You have to use at least one of the birthday doodles made by Ida.

I registered the layout I made for Rellie's birthday which I posted a few days ago. I'm sure Kuks will kill me if he finds out about this *wink*

Go visit the site and check out the the other awesome layouts in the CatScrap gallery. You can find my layout here and some comments which made my heart grow big and red =)

what inspires you

I joined another blog challenge at Cen's Loft. The rules are:

1. Make a layout containing a picture of something that inspires you, a person, place or thing.
2. Include some journaling which explains how this has inspired you.
3. Send an email with the layout or a link at june.schutrups@btinternet.com including credits for any designers, fonts etc.
4. Have the entry in by midnight Sunday 16 February GMT.

I instantly thought of my DL layout =) You can find it here and here. I wish I have more time to do challenges like this. But RAN Online is eating up my time lately =)

isn't she the sweetest!?!

After almost 1 month of not freebie hunting since my personal computer is facing "near death" experience I decided last tuesday to blog hop and found this challenge in one of my favorite blogs. The challenge is to make a layout using any kit or size layout but it must include the following : A circle , a rectangle and a square shape. These can be in any form, element, brush stroke or paper shape, as long as all three are there. I quickly thought of my Tarsier Layout and emailed it to Ms. June. Here's her reply:

Hi Jen
It does qualify - it has all the things needed!! Great layout and I love the pictures!! The layout is gorgeous and I love how you matted the photos!! Great job!!
If you manage to get the credits let me know. I will post the layout tomorrow Wednesday, if no credits then I will just apologise to the designers and explain the situation.
Here is the link for the thank you gift and thank you so much for playing along and for sharing your fantastic layout!!

Hugs
June

Now isn't she sweet!?! And for joining, I get these equally sweet colored papers as a prize. It's my first time to join a challenge like this so I'm happy about it.

You can find my layout here in her Jan16 entry together with the other challenge layouts. In the pics are three of my friends from GABC, Charlotte, Mels and Lala (and the Tarsiers, of course!) Photos are from our trip to Bohol last January 2006. I'll Digiscrap our other photos as soon as my PC is "revived". For now, I'm off to blog hop and check out the other challenges.

i need a little sunshine

I'm still down with a flu and currently dealing with some issues. But this nice email from my INBOX lifted my spirit so I decided to share some good news with you. First, Download Link registered it's highest sales so far since it opened *yipee* and second, one of my layout is again featured in a Designer's Blog. Go and visit Scrappin' & Stuff with Sooze HERE and see my Mandai Orchid Garden layout. I used her "Come into my Garden" freebie from her Nov5 post. I scrapped pictures from my Singapore trip. Mandai Orchid Garden is considered as one of the tourist spots in Singapore. For only SGD3 as entrance fee, you can already enjoy a wide variety of orchids displayed in massed beds out in the open. Take a stroll and enjoy the stunning view of orchids in full bloom. You can also wine and dine at Vanilla Pod, a continental restaurant and bar (we didn't try it though 'coz we're busy taking pictures) or just enjoy the the famous Water Garden, organic herb and spice enclosure, the fruit orchard, and the hydroculture plant tour and propagation garden. It's scenic beauty is an inspiration to while your afternoon away. So don't forget to drop by "Taman Orkid Mandai" if you visit Singapore. Here are some layouts.
