Hush... Hush... Hush...

I feel horrible... horrible... horrible...

Everyone is gifted with common sense. I wonder why some people forget to use it especially when it is badly needed!

  • mobile phones are not allowed to be used inside banks
  • if you call someone and they cancel your call... what does that mean!?!
  • if they cancel your call more than three times... what do you do!?!

Dig it! And think before you answer back!

I am not PMS'ng here, but that one got me really irked. Aarggggggggghhh!!!

The main point of this entry is: Everyone thinks I'm a total b*tch right now. But I don't think they are getting my point. Which brings me to this loner, un-talkative mood that I have right now... which will probably last for God knows how long.

Confessions of a Shopaholic Movie Night

I slept almost all afternoon. I am so puyat! But a happy one at that. I had dinner, watched a movie and went out for coffee last night with friends. It was fun!!!

I'm supposed to meet with Mels and Joy at Glorietta but Joy had some urgent things at the office. Tickets for the 8:30PM screening of "Confessions of a Shopaholic" were already sold-out, next screening is at 11PM. Whoa! So Mels and I decided to have dinner first while waiting for Joy. Since Melissa is craving for Thai food... we ate at Dusit Thani. The food is great. We are both hungry and in PG Mode that I wasn't able to take a photo of our food, haha!

The movie is at 11PM so we still have to wait for an hour. We're done eating so we just played with the cam while we catch up on each other's lives. Major Topic: How we spent Valentine's Day. Let these photos give you clues.

Inggo & Me

Before I stepped out of the house, I just had to take these photos so you can better understand Kuks' reaction when he saw me.

PAPER by Fryske

I met up with Kuks at Trinoma. I waited for like 5 minutes before he finally arrived. The moment he saw me, he plastered a sheepish smile. But I know at the back of his mind he was thinking otherwise. More like, "Uhmmn... buhay ka pa!!!" Hahaha!

Kuks hugged me and asked, "EMO ka ba Chenelyn!?!"

We had oriental food for dinner but I forgot the name of the resto. Kasi I didn't enjoy it, hehe. The food is not bad but I was afraid I caught a stomach bug so I'm being more careful lang with my food in take. Thus, I don't have much appetite.

Kuks was snap happy that time so I grabbed the opportunity and smiled and smiled... and smiled at the shots. Or maybe he was just cheering me up because he knows I wasn't feeling that well. He knows very well what will make me happy... PICTURES!

Turning Into a TV Junkie

Yesterday, Cris asked Jackee to help him look for a new TV set at Makro so I tagged along. We also invited Ate Ping to join us. Parang mga kiti-kiti na makakagala ulet, yahoo!!! But we got disappointed at the limited styles of TV sets available in Makro. They also don't have 0% installment plans. Chris nearly settled for a Malaysian made TV set for P8k, good thing we were able to convince him to check out the TV's in SMNE first before he decides. So from Makro... we went to Abenson at SMNE, then to the Appliance Center at SM The Block. There we scored a good deal from JVC.

While Ms. Mayaman is filling up the forms, excited naman si Teacher Chris sa TV nya, and busy si Ate Ping sa pag-convince sa mga bagets nya na TV na lang at huwag ng portable DVD player ang bilhin nila para sa boarding house.

Then we had dinner. I saw Clare (ForMe Designer) with her family also eating at KFC. Pio is still a cutee! Clare commented that I look more thinner. Do I? Oh sad! Arggh!!!

The TV set is now a done deal and our tummies are filled to the rim, so we went around for some more pigil shopping. Finally, meron na akong "curlash". Landi! Jackee bought a 2-in-1 eye liner and mascara.

I enjoyed our lakwatsa guys! And Criszy, I look forward to our DVD marathons. Binyagan na yan next Sunday!!!

Spread the L-O-V-E

My day didn't start right as I had to deal with my Love-Hate relationship with my DSL provider again. I swear, a lot of people who work there don't know what they are doing. High blood early in the morning!

It's Valentine's Day and I don't have a date. Rellie went home to Cabiao last night and he'll stay there until Sunday afternoon like he usually does. His sister wanted me to go to Cabiao again so we can spend Vday at the Spa since her husband is also coming home from Singapore. But I can't. Besides, Kuks also has plans for the day with his Tatay, they have two entries for the cockfight Hehehe! Kuks called me up this morning and we had a short talk lang, then they left for the "sabong" after lunch. Nanalo ba? One cock won but the other entry lost so tabla. Sayang!

I was able to talk to Ate Aps din this morning. Nakakatawa! I was telling her kasi, "Saan yung webcam mo, patingin nga at ano ba ang suot mo baka naman naka-heart-heart ka pa jan!" Sabi nya, "Hindi ah!" Then we both laughed. Ganun kasi talaga kami mag-usap. Anyway, nag-chikahan lang kami. Tapos, in the middle of our conversation, she raised her legs because she was trying to fix her socks. Sabi nya, "Uy tignan mo, heart-heart pala yung pajamas ko! I didn't know!" Hahaha! Kaloka talaga si Ate Aps. Hay... I miss her a lot!!!

Since Jackee is out on a date, I was left alone in Jordan. Pero okay na din kasi something really good happened. LOVE is indeed in the air. I was talking to Ate Ping, then Cris came and he greeted Ate Ping a Happy Valentine's. I thought the world stopped for a moment. When Ate Ping smiled and they started a short chit-chat, that's the only time my heartbeat went back to normal. Finally their cold war is over!!! Im so happy talaga! Imagine, that cold war lasted for more than a month I think. To celebrate their reconciliation, the three of us had dinner at Ate Ping's house. We bought fried chicken lang and Cris treated us for ice cream, saya! Super sarap ng feeling that the friendship is back to normal. During dinner, I was observing Ate Ping and Cris catch up on things. Napapangiti na lang ako. Sobrang dami nila pinag-usapan, pang-1 month na chikahan. Sayang Jackee missed the drama, busy kasi sa date. I'll update her na lang tomorrow. I'm sure she'll be happy to hear about this.

So this is how I spent my Vday! How's yours? Hope you had a great day too! Don't forget to spread L-O-V-E everyday. Happy Valentine's Day!

It's Her 60th

I'm back in Manila. Rellie and I catched the last bus trip going to Cabiao last Wednesday night to attend his Nanay's birthday. We arrived around 11PM and we went to church first after dropping our things at their house. It was Fiestang Lourdes. It was already past 12MN when we hit the sack.

The next morning, we woke up really early to prepare for the day's celebration. There were a lot of people who helped clean the house, set the tables outside, and cook. It feels like it's the town fiesta, hehe. Everyone is so busy and there were a lot of things going on. I helped out in the kitchen. Naks! Naki-hiwa-hiwa ako for the Green Salad.

The guests started coming in at 11AM. And it felt like the whole town is invited. Daming tao! When Rellie invited me to join them, I thought it would just be a family thing so I told him 'wag na lang kasi nga I was shy (kuno!). He then explained that they are throwing a party for his Nanay and they wanted me to be there. So I agreed. Sabi pa nya they were expecting like mga around 100 guests. Hala, parang first batch pa lang yung 100 guests. I think there were mga 300 to 400 guests. People came in batches, from lunch to dinner time. Mimay nga was joking, "Naka-formal pa kayong dalawa ha", referring to Rellie and me. Buti nga I wasn't wearing heels eh, hahaha!

We left Cabiao around 9:30PM. Honestly we didn't want to leave yet kasi we were still having fun with Rellie's Tito's and Tita's. Kaya lang, we are riding with Tito Mike and Tita Beth and they have to go back na to Manila. So ayun... hindi na namin nahintay sila Alex, they are still in Arayat when we left Cabiao.

Inside the SUV, I asked Rellie, "Ilang taon na Nanay mo?". He answered, "60". "Ah mas matanda pala ang Nanay mo sa Mama ko nang 1 year. Kaya pala bongga yung party kasi 60 na sya." "Kelan ba mag-birthday ang Mama mo?", asked Kuks. "'Di ba kaka-birthday nya lang nung 26, hindi ka nga nagpunta!" Haha, talk about bitterness and memory gap!

We spent the night at Rellie's house in Retiro. Tulog agad sa sobrang pagod. The next day na kami nakapag-kwentuhan while having breakfast. But it was also short since he has to report for work din, and I have to go home and check my DL's.

Well, I'm happy that I was invited to join them celebrate their Nanay's 60th Birthday. This occasion helped me ease up and be relaxed when I am with his family... especially sa Tatay nya. Sorry I have no photos to share kasi we were all busy attending to the guests needs. Sayang nga eh kasi naka-outfit pa naman ako! Hahaha! All I have are fond memories...

Penumbral Lunar Eclipse

On my way home from Tita Carol's house, I saw a clear sky and the moon is shining brightly. Too bad I don't have a camera with me. The news says there will be "Penumbral Lunar Eclipse" tonight at around 8:30PM. So I went home and waited. But when I went out again...

... it was already dark and cloudy. I missed another opportunity to take a good shot.

Based on this site, "A penumbra refers to a partially shaded outer region of a shadow that an object casts. A penumbral eclipse occurs when the moon passes through the faint penumbral portion of the earth’s shadow. The lunar surface is not completely shadowed by the earth’s umbra (darkest part of a shadow). Instead, observers see only the slightest dimming near the lunar limb closest to the umbra. The eclipse may be undetectable unless at least half of the moon enters the penumbra."

Here's the list of eclipses that will happen this 2009. Take note and get your cam's ready on the said dates.
  • An annular solar eclipse on January 26.
  • A penumbral lunar eclipse on February 9.
  • A penumbral lunar eclipse on July 7.
  • A total solar eclipse on July 22.
  • A penumbral lunar eclipse on August 6.
  • A partial lunar eclipse on December 31.
Anyway, with my eagerness to take a good moonshot, I waited for the sky to clear up but there's no luck. I can't even take a steady shot. Better luck next time! And sana by that time eh meron na akong dSLR, haha!

Domesticated Chick... Or Not!

Kuks visiting me at "my pad" for dinner on a FRIDAY night!?! Whoa!!! That is really something.

I consider this as one rare occasion so I thought of preparing a special dinner. In as much as I wanted to show off my cooking prowess... I know no one would believe when I make kwento about it. Everyone close to me is pretty sure that the kitchen is not my territory. Oh yes... I don't cook. But that didn't stop me from making something "special" in my own little way.

I quickly gathered my senses and decided on what to buy. Hahaha! I don't cook but I can order. Since I live in planetang pakaskas or Vietnam to friends... choices of food for delivery or to go is very limited. But there's this small ihaw-ihaw sa tabi-tabi where you can buy sumptous Inihaw na Tilapia. I also bought a bottle of "bagoong na isda" from the market, yum-yum! Plus sibuyas at kamatis from the neighborhood talipapa. Imagine the look on the face of the tindera when I told her, "Pwede pakihiwa na rin?" Jologs kasi I don't have a knife at my place.

Presenting... tadah!!!

No need to call pizza delivery as my "surprise dinner" was a hit. Pardon me for this "yabang moment". I say the tilapia, bagoong, sibuyas and kamatis combo was a hit because he asked for more rice. Yun lang... I only bought 2 orders of rice from the karinderya, hahaha! Toink, bitin pala!

Kuks was sweet the whole time. I know he enjoyed our dinner. Kaya lalo akong na-inspire to prepare food for us. Can you dig that... I get all the lambing for crappy food and table setting (notice my summer inspired plates?), how much more if I start preparing and cooking our own food!?! Hahaha... teka... that thought is starting to sound more like an unreachable dream. Unleashing my culinary prowess!!! Exciting! Wait... I will have to double check if I do have one. This experience made me realize na it's really hard pala to think of what to prepare and cook. Hay... and imagine doing that everyday when you have a family of your own na. But then again, maybe it's easy for some.

Oh the things you do for L-O-V-E
