Stories Squeezed In

To Blog or not to Blog!?!

Hmmn... the past days went by like a breeze. I've got a lot of things to share but I can't stay long and write as much as my hands are full too. And starting tomorrow, I won't have access to the internet for a few days. So I will just give you a sneak peak of how my days went by.

Friday, Kielle Louren turns 2!!! One of my inaanak celebrated her birthday with a simple merienda. I attended the party with Mama and LJ. I got a chance to see my cousins and Tita's from my father side. Seems like ages when I last saw them. I also received a canvass bag from Cliff (my cousin who's a Seaman) as pasalubong, yey! I was in Batangas when they had a welcome back dinner so he gave me a bag instead.

Saturday, woke up at 430AM and spent the day with 2 of my cousins (Tin and Innah) and my 2 nieces (LJ and Isay). We went on a picnic and we also took a dip in the cold pool to beat the summer heat. Hopefully I can blog more about this when I get back next week. We had loads of fun! It was my first time to be in full charge, being the eldest among them. Parang natakot pa mga Nanay nila when they learned that it will just be the 5 of us, haha! Fun... fun... fun trip! Tin, send all the pics na! Had to go home earlier though that day because of DSL issues in my DL.

Sunday, I received the news that Mels' Mom passed away. After hearing mass, I attended to my DSL issue then I went to the wake with Pol. Buti na lang he picked me up at MRT North or else I'll go straight to Funeraria Paz in Araneta. Out of sadness, I quickly forwarded Mels' SMS to friends that I didn't finish reading it. The wake is at Funeraria Paz -Sucat, toink! Gets!?! Anyway, it felt good to see and hug Mels. Bru, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Please stay strong.

Monday, spent half of the day following up repair of my phone and DSL line. I swear they really suck at technical support! Nainis na naman ako sa attending Supervisor at 171 and nakipag-away talaga ako sa pinadala nilang Lineman, hay stressful!!! Got my connection back at 12NN. Met up with Bossing Jun in the evening then we picked up Joy, Ujin and Rellie at Magallanes. Caught up in SLEX traffic but I enjoyed my stay in the car kasi we were laughing all the time. Even at the wake, we were still laughing about stories of our past. Tsaka ang takaw kasi ni Ujin, wanting to finish all the Zesto and food at the wake. Fiesta!?! Pol came too with Chie. Hay.. I miss these guys so much! I'm happy that we were together but I wish it's because of a different situation so we can laugh some more. Finally, finally, finally... that day I was introduced to Joe, Mels' BF.

Tuesday... uhmmn, today I woke up in Retiro again, haha! Talaga yatang once a week schedule na ito. It was already late when we left at the wake so I slept again at their house. Had a short chit-chat with Mi. She had to wake me up, nakaharang kc ako sa cabinet nya. Ang kulit, huwag na daw ako umuwi, dun daw ako matulog ulet. Kamusta naman yun!?! Aga nya pumasok 630AM. Rellie woke up at 6AM too finishing some report. Kawawa naman si Kuks, super antok pa sya nagtratrabaho na. We had breakfast then I went home na.

Tomorrow I'll be at Sucat again for the Cremation. Hmmn... sana may kasabay ako kasi baka maligaw ako if mag-commute ako, toink! Then, I'll meet up with my College Buddies for dinner. Gela is back (with Baby Amber) since Friday. I'm excited to see my College friends again. Nagkikita lang kasi kami pag may Balikbayan, hahaha! Sana dito rin si Shey

Starting Thursday, I'll be MIA for a short while... see you next week!!!

Cold and Rainy Summer Night Dinner

Rellie's crazy office schedule strikes again. We've been talking since Sunday on when and how to meet this week. Arguing more on the "how", actually. Last week, I agreed to a quickie Thursday ... as in quick shopping and quick dinner at Trinoma since we spent the Holy Week break naman together. This week, I was trying to lure him to a DVD marathon but his office work won't allow us. So he won, and I am scheduled for another sleepover at Retiro with a "dinner of my choice" as a bribe. Armed with my overnight bag, I left the house despite the drizzle.

I asked Rellie to invite Mi na rin, so we can have dinner together. Buti na lang she was "game". Later on you'll understand why... hehehe!

We met up at their house then took a cab to Banawe. We ate at Terriyaki Boy. Happiness. Good thing I gave in to Rellie's request. We had a hearty dinner. Busog.

And what's nice about this dinner is that finally, now I can say that I am already at ease with Rellie's sister. Alam mo yung feeling na "meron na kaming mga small talks". I've known Mi even before I met Rellie's parents but most of the time, when I go home to Cabiao, she's in Singapore. So walang masyadong bonding moments with her. Though we exchange SMS every now and then... iba pa rin talaga yung kaharap mo 'di ba? Oh well, basta I had fun kahit hindi masyado okay yung service ng staffs dun kasi excited na yata sila mag-close. And Mi paid for our bill, haha nilibre nya pa kami. Ang daya ni Kuks.. nakalusot! He was supposed to make me libre kasi di ba yun nga yung catch for my sleepover! Style talaga ni Kuks...

Hindi kami nag-picture kasi I'm shy. Maybe next time!

We went back to their house na after dinner, watched SNN, freshened up, nangulit kay Lloyd (Mi's husband) over the phone kasi nagpapabili si Rellie ng rubbershoes then slept na. Kanina we were already up before 6AM. Rellie has a 9AM meeting so we went our separate ways by 7AM.

And now... I feel sleepy But I feel good too.

Galaw Galaw sa Tag Araw

In Cabiao, we usually wake up at 6AM. But last Saturday, I woke up at 8AM. Everyone is already busy with their own thing. Still in my jammies, I found myself in the kitchen with Nay. She's preparing the ingredients for our lunch. I told her I'd help her out, so she asked me to cut the sitaw for her. And I did. After that, I asked her what else I can do. That's when I saw the guavas and I blurted out, "Talaga po palang mag-sisigang kayo!" Nanay smiled and said, "Masarap yan!".

So I had my first taste of Sinigang sa Bayabas. It wasn't bad after all. And there's no amoy kili-kili smell that I've bee dreading. Nay attended a reunion so Rellie and I had to take an early lunch with Tay since he won't come with us (and the rest of the clan) to spend the afternoon at Inang's bukid.

After looking for a Vet for one of Rellie's fighting cocks, we're finally on our way to their farm!!! Warning: This is a picture heavy post.

Every year, Rellie's family hold their Black Saturday family lunch here. What's more exciting this year is they have a newly constructed bahay kubo and I had the chance to be part of this family tradition.

Family time... bonding time Menu for the day is Sinampalukang Manok. There's also singkamas and pakwan for dessert. Plus minatamis na kamote. And RC cola. This is me loving the simple and laid back life! Bakit dito parang walang problema?

They have 9 mango trees in this farm. Last Thursday, 35 crates of mangoes were harvested here and they were able to sell it for Php15/kilo and Php12/kilo depending on the size of the mangoes. My eyes really lit up when I saw the crates. And yes... I've been eating mangoes since I arrived in Cabiao as in one to sawa! We're lucky that there's still some left today. I can never get tired of eating hilaw na mangga!!! Oh, this place is a real heaven for me. Nanay also packed mangoes for me to bring home to Manila. Kahit mabigat... inuwi ko talaga!

After all the food trip, photo-op na!!! We started to goof around in the rice fields. The palays were already harvested so it's safe na to run around and play and be like kids again.
