Lying in the Sands of Laiya

Sorry if it took me days before I post about my Laiya weekend. I have to wait for the photos from Joy's cam. Most of which are already up in both my Friendster and Facebook account by now. The only difference that you will see in this post are some side stories

Oh yes, I had another trip to the beach! Actually, the night before this trip, I was already having second thoughts if I should really go or not. Something bad happened recently at my DL so I gave it a lot of thought. But I ended up thinking, "Why should I be affected?" For sure "their" purpose is to send me a warning or something. So I decided not to be afraid and just go on and play fair. My second reason is... I haven't told Kuks about the trip until 1130PM, Friday night He was shocked and a little irritated based on his tone. "Kelan nyo pa na-plano yan!?!" Hehe. But after some discussions, he eventually said, "Okay, mag-ingat ka ha."

Puyat from packing my things, and praying that nothing bad will happen while I was away, I think I didn't hear my alarm clock. I jumped out of bed, had a quick shower and I hit the road. Muntik na ako maiwan. I met up with Joy and her family at GMA station. Laiya... here we come!

After a long drive, a lot of stop-overs, and getting lost on the road twice, hehehe ... I had a chance to be one with the sea again *warm heart* We checked in at Sigayan Bay Beach Resort. We settled for a one big air-conditioned bedroom on the second level, with a veranda, private CR, and refrigerator.

There are also air-conditioned Nipa huts, cool 'di ba!?! This package also includes private CR, refrigerator, hot and cold water dispenser with 5 gallon purified water at Php4000. Not bad.

There were a lot of bakasyunistas and we are lucky that there's still one available room left. So we took it na.

We rested for a little while inside the room. It felt like we've been on the road the whole day... I can't feel my butt. We lounged around for a bit and took some photos.

Hahaha! Ang sungit ng Lolo ko! He's like that every time I open up this topic.

Mels wants me to check local flights. And I did. The fares are pretty low... pretty tempting. We didn't get to finalize anything though since she's busy, she just gave me her preferred dates with no target destination in mind. For me, I think I wanna go back to Cebu and try Bantayan Island. Or to CDO. Yes, I am dreaming again while I'm wide awake.

Actually, I am saving up for a trip. And this trip will surely beat all the trips that I've been thru, tee hee So it's okay if I have to be very matipid until that day comes. Coz I heard it's a place where "Dreams Come True". Enough said! Hahaha!

Where Do We Go From Here?

I am bored so I took the Lakbayan Quiz. Look, I got a grade of C. I hope this year I'd be able to visit more places and get a chance to travel more. If time and budget permits, I'd love to go out of the country again. It's been two years since my trip to Singapore. This time, I want to go to Hong Kong and experience Disneyland, or to Macau perhaps. But my ultimate dream is to visit and shop 'till I drop with Ate Aps in Canada. Hell yeah... I hear you say dream on!!!

I was looking at old photos last night, and I saw a photo of my visit to the Cagsaua Ruins, with the majestic Mayon Volcano at the back of course! Wow!!! That photo was taken way back in 2001, I think. I hope I can visit it again, armed with a more acceptable fashion sense

Included in my travel wishlist are the likes of Davao, Sagada, Zamboanga, Camiguin, and Camarines Sur. Taking the quiz made me realize that I've never been to any part of Mindanao. Boo...

My Lakbayan grade is C!

Twin Lagoon

Next on our itinerary is the Twin Lagoon. There were already two batches of tourists when we arrived. A clearance thru the Calis Mountain leads to this spectacular destination. The Twin Lagoon which has an inner and outer bodies of water, is divided by huge... as in huge limestone walls and connected by a small passage which is visible only at low tide.

As soon as our boat was anchored safely, Rellie went down to test the water. It was both warm and cold at the same time. The water is also clear, clean and inviting. They say it's a combination of freash and saltwater.

Still armed with my floater and snorkeling gears, I decided to dive in. Warm and cold nga! Basta it's a different feeling, it's as if the water is divided into two parts.

To swim to the place, you have to pass through a narrow opening on the side of the mountain. Going through it is like moving into another world. As mentioned earlier, the opening is only visible during low tide. So we are lucky to reach Twin Lagoon at the right time.

what's inside the leather box!?!

After gate crashing Alison's Despedida last Thursday (see story here), I went to see Kuks at Rob Mall. Finally... finally... finally... he bought the My/Phone Slyder Series S22 Duo Phone that he's making me kulit with *sobrang arte ng construction ng sentence kong ito, nde ko kinaya!!!* It's a toss between T22 and S22, and sabi ni Kuks, mas pang-chicks daw ung S22 so that's what he purchased *notice the stress on the words pang-CHICKS and HE* Feeling tisay and so so so loved... we went home with my new mobile phone. Deadma if we were standing during our MRT ride... we were having a kabag fest. Kuks was throwing non-stop jologs jokes. Deadma if we had to endure the long queue in the FX terminal... we ate ketchup-mayo hotdog sandwich while waiting. Before going to my "new haven", we ate dinner at sosyal na sosyal na Janet's (Pares House in Nova-Bayan). He allowed me to have Coke pa (he's been asking me to mellow down on my sugar in-take kasi)... saan ka pa!?! Sobra na 'to!!! =) Non-stop laughing trip pa din during dinner. A certified HAPPY day for both of us. After eating, we headed off to Fidel so he can do the "inspection" and "approval" of my accomplished tasks for the week. So far... ok naman ang rating ko =) Thumbs up from the General, wohooo!!! Things are slowly falling into places... malapit na malapit na talaga...

He brought me home and asked me not to wait up for him anymore, pero syempre... I can't do that. I mean, I can't sleep just yet. I have to lay my hands on my new phone! =) Eto na... eto na... eto na.... waaaaaaaahh ahhhhhh... doo bi doo bi doo... bi doo bi doo...

Parang ang dami nyang pera noh!?! Hehe, not really *wink* We decided to buy the MyPhone S22 because of my need to maintain 2 active sims. Siya din kasi Dual Sim din yung phone nya na nabili nya from his Singapore trip. We would have gotten the T22 which has a stylus for the touch screen but we settled with S22. So far I'm liking the idea of not having to bring 2 cellphones all the time. It's user-friendly also, easy to upload and download to a PC just like a flash disc. The package includes 2 batteries and 2 ways to recharge via outlet and PC USB. It also comes with a headset and 1G memory card. I am now really bidding goodbye to my N6680 and it's bluetooth and 3G because S22 doesn't have it. It doesn't matter though, I don't really need it. =) Another downside is you can't use MP3's or WAV tones for the message alert tone, I'm so used pa naman to hearing my "Umbrella" tone (yung Motorola L6 which we sold recently I used "With You" by Chris Brown naman). My only problem is it's shiny finish... palagi tuloy parang oilyness just like the fez of the owner, harharhar! =) And yung Calendar pala, I don't know if nde ko pa lang na-explore masyado or nde talaga pwede mag-store ng birthday alarm. Hala, I like greeting my friends pa naman on their special days ='( Teka... parang dumadami na yung reklamo ko =) Believe me, I'm happy with my new phone. *cartwheel* Having 2 active sims in 1 phone is already a steal. Plus the fact na it's from Kuks made it more special * i heart you* Ano ba!?! Naaapakan mo naman ang mahaba kong hair!!! *wink*

Now I tell you guys Goodbye ='(

=)

But after exploring the phone features again, I realized na pang-chicks nga pala 'tong celphone na'to. So meet myChel... myChelpon =)

another day in paradise

I was having a so... so... day when I received this SMS from Kuks, "May email ako sa'yo. Matutuwa ka, hehe". So I logged in to check what it was. I nearly did a cartwheel when I opened my mail, hahaha! =) You guys wouldn't believe this, because I can hardly believe it myself *wink* My ChinoKuks surprised me with tickets for our vacation trip. Actually, it's a trip together with his officemates and friends from ACN . Ibang level di'ba!?! Marunong na sya mag-surprise. Oh, I love you Kuks so... so... much!!! I immediately called up his mobile to say thank you and told him how he made me happy. He was just laughing at the end of the line because he knows I cannot contain my happiness. You see, every now and then, I'd bug him that I wanted to book a trip and if he'd wanted to join. And he'd start lecturing me again on how to save up money and I'd answer back on how money should be enjoyed. We always have that kind of discussion and he'd just end it with, "The right time will come". And I'm all hands off about the issue but I'll be wearing a simangot face, God knows how long, hehe. I remember I mentioned in one of my posts that he promised we'll take a summer trip. Well, summer is over but we didn't leave Manila. But that I understand... actually I backed off too because I have major things to deal with and I can't squeeze that in my schedule. Naks busy! =) But now, I am really looking forward to boarding a plane and leaving Manila for a while *wink*

The search for the perfect swimwear is on... but I still have around ten pairs that I haven't used yet so we'll just see =)

feeling the summer heat

I admit that "mother" is overly glorified by our society. Reams of paper and reels of films have expressed the love of a mother. But as Oprah Winfrey says:

"Biology is the least of what makes
someone a mother."

I strongly agree =) But I won't bore you with my thoughts about motherhood. I have something else more interesting to share. To celebrate MOTHER's DAY, Tito Alex and Tita Stella treated the family for a pool party. They rented this newly opened resort called R&R. It's just a few winks away from our house in Novaliches so the 10AM-5PM dip in the pool is so sulit. Plus there's not much of travel time involve that can tire you so we still look and feel fresh when we got there. It's a big pool and there's only 27 of us who came. Too bad Russell and Kuya Rommel missed it =( LJ isn't there too. Just the same, we enjoyed the short dip, the food, the sun and most especially the time to bond as one big family.

Since the whole resort is all ours to explore, everyone seemed to enjoy the day. The girls are busy with the food (preparing and eating them too), the boys have their overflowing supply of beer, the kids are in the pool from start to finish, Jackee is glued to the Magic Sing microphone... and me, oh well... I'm busy with what I do best =)

I wonder how it feels like to have a swimming pool right in your backyard. Hehe... day dreaming, huh!?! It was a short dip, but relaxing indeed. Heartfelt THANK YOUs to Tito Alex and Tita Stella!!! Hopefully we can do this again some other time =)

Oh... I have to go. I have a sleep over bonus at R&R with Jackee. Room 3. Yippee!!! So we're going back there (after SHOP duty) for a goodnight sleep. I wonder if we can still use the pool for a night dip... hmmmnn. I'll give you updates tom for sure =)
