how often do you COLOR?

I had a short "business meeting" yesterday and I am hoping that it will turn out well. I will elaborate on this when the right time comes. For now, I will keep you guys hanging and hunching =) Just help me pray for a positive outcome.

After the meeting, I agreed to meet up with Lanie which I think is a perfect timing since I am still tensed and excited from my meeting. I needed someone to talk to, though I cannot disclose my "business deal" yet, I just needed someone at that very moment. I was already at Trinoma around 5PM, and she said she'll be able to meet me at 8PM the most. So I went malling in my high heels... from Trinoma to SMNE to Trinoma to pass time. Literally, my feet is already killing me when she arrived at a little past 8 ='(

But she made bawi naman =) We ate at Mexicalli and she treated me with an eye catching dinner. THANKS BRU! Lanie is a good friend of mine way back in my TEEN years. We met because our EX-es are siblings. Both guys are now gone, hehe, I mean they have a family of their own already. But I am glad that Lanie and I remained friends. We don't see each other that often but we have this string that attaches us =) And what matters more is that we are both successful in our own ways and we too have our respective happy relationships. Not yet on the marrying stage... but slowly getting there (Can you see it? My fingers are crossed! Haha!) Slowly... but surely as they say *wink* In fact, she's leaving for the States by July to try her luck and be with her love. Yikee!!!

We had to cut our dinner short because we also plan to see "Sex and the City".

I wasn't a huge fan of the series and I was only an occasional watcher. I really didn't follow it so I wasn't 100% familiar with all of the characters and recurring plot lines. I was able to catch the trailer the last time I watched a movie with Kuks and decided right there and then that I will catch this film... with or without him, hahaha =) So good thing my schedule for the day matched with Lanie's, and I'm really happy that I watched it with her. By the way, she's an avid fan so she was able to fill me in with some of the details. This movie is definitely good entertainment and a pleasant couple of hours spent with your girlfriends. Or you can also watch it with your boyfriend perhaps as some of the women in the moviehouse did. I bet those guys were probably dragged along to see this movie as well. But surprise... surprise... Lanie and I can't help but smile whenever we hear men react or laugh out loudly during the movie. Hmmn... they seemed to be thoroughly enjoying it as much as their girlfriends did =)

There were breathtaking costumes, elaborate and witty dialogue, and some interesting twists along the way. So be prepared to see a dazzling display of the fashions. There were a lot of designer clothes, bags, purses, shoes, and jewelries that are a real delight to the eyes. Admit it or not, there's a little label-savvy character in everyone. Who wouldn't want a Louis Vuitton bag, especially if it was given as a gift, right? *wink*

I like the scene where Carrie and Big were discussing about love letters. Hmmn.. I agree, sure as hell, girls would love to receive even short notes on post its. I know it's the age of SMS and all... but hey... WRITE IT! =) I also liked Charlotte's ferocious protection of Carry back to the limo. It nearly caused tears to stream down my face. I think my heart skipped a beat for that particular scene ='( And I can also relate to Carrie's mopping scenes. I also tend to shut the world out in times of emotional wreckage like that. I'm a tough girl I know, but as we all know... LOVE can also weaken you at times... or most of the time *wink* It is impossible to truly understand its logic, whether there is any, and what the gals in the story have given us is the acceptance that sometimes our emotions overrule reason, and this might not be such a bad idea, but it's something that you have to handle very carefully.

If I had one complaint it was that the editing was not as creative. Maybe the nudity and sex scenes were a bit gratuitous and it seemed it was easily cut out of the film. But hey, you guys can do better. Don't leave the audiences caught up in a scene and next thing you know... it's already an entirely different scene. Boo... Not that I'm eager to see the hot sex scenes, ha... harharhar! =)

"Sex and the City" clearly shattered the idea that there was a happily ever after, but it really never turned its back on the concept of hopeless romance, and how we just keep on going regardless of how tough the road can be. As a girl-bonding movie, it certainly works. Two hours that combine love, friendship, survival, and a reaffirming belief that in the end... everything should work out, pretty much the way our hearts hope it will. The movie is smart and witty, sexy and bold, and overall just fabulous. The interesting characters made me want to go back to watch the series on DVD.

and they lived happily ever after

I attended Liezel's birthday bash cum despedida yesterday. And I was so surprised to see her US based boyfriend, Norman, was there too. As in fresh from the airport pa daw. I'm so kilig with the fact na sinusundo na sya *bigsmile* Liezel shared that they are getting married this June. Oh, I am so happy for both of them because I know that they deserve to be together. Just a short TRIVIA... the 3 of us are classmates in high school. Norman already like Liezel even backed then but is soooooooooooo torpe to say his feelings. Then Liezel had a boyfriend and Norman flew to the US. After years and so many miles of being apart, I was able to get them back together. Yes... you heard me right. I brought them back together. I was able to get in touch again with Norman thru FRIENDSTER. See... I was able to do something good out of my addiction, hahaha! =)

Our other Highschool friends were not around but some GABC Peeps were also there so I joined their table. I'm happy to see Ms. Dette there, who happens to be my Brand Manager way back in 2002 when I was still with the Oxygen Team. Kathy Po, JR and Emie were there too. Funny thing is that they used to be my colleagues in GABC but that's the longest afternoon I shared with them ever. I don't think I had a chance to make chit-chat with them when I was still in GABC. But I can still say that I had fun exchanging the latest chismaks with them. We did a countdown on the resigned employees of GABC. It's a long list, grabe!!! I can imagine the canteen filled with unfamiliar faces. Sobrang hindi ko na sila mga kilala for sure! I also shared with them how my life changed after GABC. Syempre... proud to share stories about my DL. And I think I really inspired them na there's more to life after GABC.

Here's our souvenir photo for the night.

movie... noodles... iced tea... chocolates... what more can you ask for?

We watched the advance screening of "Indiana Jones and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" at Trinoma Cinema yesterday. The film will take you back to 1950's - the Russians and nuclear testing. I specifically like the gun powder/warehouse scenes, the motorbike chase, the ants scene and the time that they were able to discover the City of Gold revealing old age mechanisms . Humor was OK and most jokes worked for me. The only scene that bothered me is that Indy survived the nuclear explosion in a refrigerator (huh!?!) and then is whirled away miles through the air, exits the fridge and just walks off? Hehehe... I know things like this happens in action/adventure movies... but stilll... I find it too difficult to believe. I simply don't get it! *wink*

Ultimately, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is a film that, while not entirely bad falls short of its mark. Knowing that you have Harrison Ford, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg involved in the film raised so much expectations. But then again, it's simply not possible to top an iconic, legendary film or series. The original can't be beaten, and is next to impossible to match. This Indy movie is entertaining in a sort of way and I had fun and laughed while I was watching it. But it also made me think about Nicolas Cage's National Treasure because they have a similar plot.

Hey... why am I complaining when I get to watch an advance screening and take home some goodies too!?! Hahaha =)

Did I mention that I waited for Rellie for an hour? Hmp!!! Good thing Jackee and Chris were there to save us good seats. Oopps... I think I shouldn't complain about that either because he gave me chocolates. My long over due pasalubong from his Subic trip which we picked up from their house after watching. And I now have my vits with me too! Yey! See? I'm really serious about my goal to gain weight ;-)

* looking forward to more CINEPLEX adventures

just enjoy the moment

I met up with Kuks today and we had dinner before watching a movie. I'm sharing with you a photo of my Healthy Plate because I also can't belive that I finished it all, hahaha! YUMMY-ness!!! Or should I say I was ordered to eat everything =) I am really making extra effort to "eat well" as I am already tired of hearing the "you look thin" comments. I don't know what went wrong. I always wanted to gain weight but it seems like I'm losing more and more weight now. But really, I will gain it back or even gain more... I promised myself that and I'm working on it *wink* See, it look and taste really good. I'm not really a fan of green salads but I like this one. And I can help but smile as Kuks keep on saying, "I feel like a goat", in his pinaka-maarte tone mimicking someone. Heehee =) Guess who? *wink* Yeah, Kuks may appear to be snobbish and outright nerdy to some but he never fail to make me smile when he starts being goofy. Very strict (on some things... err... a lot of things pala) but he can be funny too. And what I like about our dinner today is that we were able to talk about a lot of things. My eyes really widened when he started mentioning about the big *M* thing. Did I really hear that!?! Nothing fancy but it swept me off my feet for a moment there. Ooppsss... enough. As my title says... just enjoy the moment.

We watched the last full show of "When Love Begins". I was a little hesitant at first as I heard some bad reviews about the movie. It wasn't that bad. We enjoyed relating to the scenes, hahaha! I had fun spotting Anne's swimwears and cover ups =) And at the same time I also thought of how I spent the Boracay Trip I had last year. Oh my God I'm starting to really miss the beach again... boo =(

Here's a photo from my Bora Trip which I so sooooo love =) Oh puhleeese take me to the beach. This chick needs some sand dusts lovin'

sleepover

Jackee and I went back to R&R last night around 11:30pm for a sleepover. Kuks didn't like the idea that it's just the two of us who will stay there over night. He's a little irritated because he thinks it's not safe. And we don't even know if there are other guests who checked in. I know he has a point, so I just promised him we'll lock the door and check-out immediately the morning after. Afterall, we're already there so we just might as well enjoy the airconditioned room. We didn't go for a night dip in the pool as we were already tired and a little scared, hehehe. Literally... we just went there to sleep. Zzzzzzz...

So this morning, we woke up early as we can already hear shrieks and giggles of little boys and girls who are enjoying a morning dip in the pool. I think they are having their swimming lessons. I wish I had swimming lessons too as a child *bitter* hahaha!!! =)

There's nothing fancy about the room aside from the fact that it has an aircon and it is still new. The TV doesn't have a cable so there's not much choices on channels to watch. For me, the best part of the room is the CR. I enjoyed my shower despite the fact that they don't have Hot/Cold water. Oh and the side tables too, we wanted to bring it home.

feeling the summer heat

I admit that "mother" is overly glorified by our society. Reams of paper and reels of films have expressed the love of a mother. But as Oprah Winfrey says:

"Biology is the least of what makes
someone a mother."

I strongly agree =) But I won't bore you with my thoughts about motherhood. I have something else more interesting to share. To celebrate MOTHER's DAY, Tito Alex and Tita Stella treated the family for a pool party. They rented this newly opened resort called R&R. It's just a few winks away from our house in Novaliches so the 10AM-5PM dip in the pool is so sulit. Plus there's not much of travel time involve that can tire you so we still look and feel fresh when we got there. It's a big pool and there's only 27 of us who came. Too bad Russell and Kuya Rommel missed it =( LJ isn't there too. Just the same, we enjoyed the short dip, the food, the sun and most especially the time to bond as one big family.

Since the whole resort is all ours to explore, everyone seemed to enjoy the day. The girls are busy with the food (preparing and eating them too), the boys have their overflowing supply of beer, the kids are in the pool from start to finish, Jackee is glued to the Magic Sing microphone... and me, oh well... I'm busy with what I do best =)

I wonder how it feels like to have a swimming pool right in your backyard. Hehe... day dreaming, huh!?! It was a short dip, but relaxing indeed. Heartfelt THANK YOUs to Tito Alex and Tita Stella!!! Hopefully we can do this again some other time =)

Oh... I have to go. I have a sleep over bonus at R&R with Jackee. Room 3. Yippee!!! So we're going back there (after SHOP duty) for a goodnight sleep. I wonder if we can still use the pool for a night dip... hmmmnn. I'll give you updates tom for sure =)

ForMe Girls @ Kabab

I had dinner at Mr. Kabab today with the ForMe Girls to celebrate Mariel's birthday and her (long overdue) formal appointment as ForMe's Merchandise Manager. Yikee CONGRATS!!! =) Tatay Joey (Mariel's Hubby), was also there to celebrate with us. It was a fun dinner, I really had a great time. We took photos of course! =) Good thing I brought a camera as theirs is already lowbatt when I got there. Yeah, I resent the fact that I was an hour late =( I fell asleep and it's already 5PM when I woke up, and we're supposed to meet at 6PM. To make the long story short, they already ate when I got there.

Everyone agrees that she looks blooming nowadays so we all bet that she's having a girl =) She's expecting their third baby soon. Actually, Ali even sponsored Mariel's ultrasound (courtesy of her MOM) but they still have to go back as the baby is not in a normal position when they had it. We're all excited!!!

Here are the photos of the rest of the group.

There you go... meet the Girls of ForMe. Oh, I don't have a photo with Pam because she left early, Aiza didn't join this dinner treat, and Chim is in the US. Who else is missing!?! I really miss these girls and our fun time in the GABC office. The dinner seemed more like my party than Mariel's, hahaha! Take another look at the photos. I'm included in every shot =) How I wish Rina and Dimples were also there to celebrate with us.

When I got home, I received this cute SMS from Mariel...

"Dear Starlets and Veterans,

Thanks for having dinner with me and thanks for being terrific teammates.
Without your help, I wouldn't have kicked the 'T' from my title. :-D
Go Shanghai 2009! B-)"

Oh well, I'm happy that things are getting smoother for the team. I hope they do win in the G.A. next year =)

what happens in vegas

Fresh from the bus station last Monday, Kuks and I dropped our things and grabbed a quick dinner before going to Glorietta. We met up with Jackee and Chris (double date, yikee!) to catch the advance screening of "What Happens in Vegas". It's a Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher starrer. We enjoyed the movie, and I think the pairing of Ashton and Cameron worked. They have screen chemistry and wonderful comedic timing. Even the credits additional scenes had us enjoying this fun, relatively clean, lighthearted comedy. Ashton looks so hot *YUM* and I like Cameron's outfits *SEXY* here. Plus "Hater" and "Tipper" added double fun. But don't expect a lot from the film. It's enough that we were able to get a much needed rest after out trip. In the movie, what's supposedly a crazy and rowdy weekend in Sin City followed them all the way home and turned their lives upside down. The casino, slot machines and chips reminded me of some scenes from the past, hahaha! =) A trip down memory lane... scenes from not so long time ago... dumbidum *wink*

This is my favorite scene =)

a day in his laid back life

Yey, I'm back in Manila =) For those who haven't figured it out yet, I went to Cabiao to attend the barangay fiesta of Palasinan where Rellie's family live. Cabiao is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Nueva Ecija, Philippines. It is located between San Isidro and Arayat, Pampanga and northwest is Concepcion, Tarlac. It is about an hour and a half drive from Manila or a 2 hour bus ride on a public transpo.

SOURCE: Wikipedia

I know I promised snapshots and stories but all I can say is that I had a wonderful weekend *kilig* It's been 3 years I think since I last visited their home in Cabiao. And it really felt good to be back =) I can really say that HOME is where the HEART is.

I don't have fiesta pics to share as they have a lot of visitors and I was a little too shy to bring out my "point and shoot". All I have are photos I took the morning after the fiesta.

It was a quiet morning and I spent it in their garden. While they are busy cleaning the clutters and putting things back to where they used to be, I bonded with my camera. After all, Kuks is quite busy too =)

I met most of Rellie's relatives and friends during my stay, and this is also the first time I am formally introduced to INGGO =) Kuks always say that he trains INGGOchi every weekend to bite me when I visit *silly* Inggo is a Pitbull and Kuks adores this dog so much. I was scared because it's big but it's okay... Inggo didn't bite me =) I helped Rellie give this dog a bath. Friends na kami =)

Aside from the dogs (they have two) and the fighting cocks (I lost count, haha), there were also lots of flowers in their frontyard which provides a relaxing view in their veranda. Here are some photos I took playing with the Digital Macro setting. Cool.
